Finding Government Documents

Using Canada Commons

This box contains step-by-step instructions on how to find government documents using Canada Commons.

  • Canada Commons is an electronic book database containing various Canadian publications, including government documents.

1. Go to the library website and click Ebooks.

  • Start by accessing the library website here.
  • Scroll down the homepage until you reach the "Electronic Resources" section.
  • Click the Ebooks link.

2. Click the Canada Commons link.

3. Enter your keywords and press Enter to make a search.

  • You can also click the "Documents" tab at the top to explore the database's selection.

To access Canada Commons from home, you will need to login using your Microsoft 365 credentials. Email us at reference-stlambert@crcmail.net for more information.

 

Custom Google Search box

This custom Google search box (courtesy of Carleton University) allows you to search the world wide web for government websites.

To use it:

1. Enter your keywords in the search box.

2. Select a region of the world in the drop-down list underneath.

3. Click Go.
