Research instruction

The Champlain College - Saint-Lambert librarians and technicians offer instruction sessions that introduce students and faculty to available library resources, research concepts/strategies, database searching, resource evaluation and academic integrity. Sessions are available in both synchronous and asynchronous formats (via Moodle).

Topics covered can be:

  • Introduction to the library and academic research
  • Academic integrity (in-text citations / bibliographies, plagiarism)
  • Citation styles (MLA, APA, Chicago)
  • Evaluation of sources (articles, books/ebooks, websites)
  • General overview of basic concepts or taylored to specific subject topics

 

To book a session:

  • come to the library, stop by at the Ask US! desk and talk with a librarian or library technician
  • email Reference-stlambert@crcmail.net
  • MIO Reference Librarian

Please book early to ensure to reserve the date you want for your session. Dates are subject to staff and classroom availability. As staff schedules are set ahead of time, we recommend that requests for sessions be received at least 1 week in advance.
