(Website) Kanatsiohareke, pronounced ‘Gah nah joe hah lay geh’ translates to “The Place of the Clean Pot,” referring to a naturally formed ten-foot-wide and ten-foot-deep pothole carved by water and rock scouring a hole into a creek bed. This not-for-profit community is led by Mohawk elder and spiritual leader Tom Sakokwenionkwas Porter.

(Website with videos) The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that the Second Hearing phase began last evening for the proposed amendments to the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law (formerly known as the Kahnawà:ke Membership Law).

Wahkohtowin means "everything is related." It is one of the basic principles of Cree Natural Law passed through language, song, prayer, and storytelling. The elders explain that by following the teachings of Wahkohtowin individuals, communities and societies are healthier.

(Website) Founded in 1977 by the late Eben Hopson of Barrow, Alaska, the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) has flourished and grown into a major international non-government organization representing approximately 160,000 Inuit of Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Chukotka (Russia). The organization holds Consultative Status II at the United Nations.

(Website) There are four Inuit regions in Canada, collectively known as Inuit Nunangat. The term “Inuit Nunangat” is a Canadian Inuit term that includes land, water, and ice. Inuit consider the land, water, and ice, of our homeland to be integral to our culture and our way of life. Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, formerly the Inuit Tapirisat of Canada, was founded at a meeting in Toronto in February 1971 by seven Inuit community leaders. The impetus to form a national Inuit organization evolved from shared concern among Inuit leaders about the status of land and resource ownership in Inuit Nunangat.
