Equipment Available

You may borrow equipment located at the Library Loans Desk, we provide students and faculty with:

  •     Laptops (for students only, faculty and staff go to the IT department (E-241))
  •     Photography and video equipment (for faculty and students of Film & New Media Department only)
  •     Telescopes (for Astronomy and Astrophysics students only)

Loan Policies and Procedures

MEDIA EQUIPMENT

  • Your valid Champlain student card as well as completed equipment loan or reservation forms, with authorized signature, are required prior to equipment pick-up.
  • Cameras, camcorders, tripods, lights and sound equipment are available to Film & New Media students only. Equipment is issued on a 2 day loan.

TELESCOPES

The library will receive a list of authorized students from faculty. Telescopes are issued for a 2-day loan period.

LAPTOPS

  • In library use only (for 2 hours)
  • Late fees apply as for Reserve materials

Fines and Late Charges

A charge will be added to a student’s account for the late return of any equipment. 

Late fee: 5$ per day per item.

Equipment not returned will be considered lost AND

-- Additional replacement and administrative fee will be applied.

The teacher will be notified and future privileges to borrow media equipment may be lost.
